MBTBC Radio Room

NEXT RADIO COURSE

The next Radio Course providing qualifications for a Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency (MROCP) or a Marine Operators VHF Certificate of Proficiency (MROVCP) will be held in November/December 2009. The tutorial segment will be held on Sunday, 29th November from 0830 to 1700 hrs and the examination will take place on Thursday 3 rd December at 1930 hrs, both in the Club Stradbroke Room.

Cost of the course including supply of an Operators Handbook and the Examination fee is $140.00 for full members and their immediate family (wife/partner), $150.00 for other than full members/family and $130.00 for Juniors (18 yrs and under), inclusive of GST.

While the course covers the full curriculum required for the MROCP examination which provides qualification for operation of MF/HF as well as VHF Radios, candidates are offered the alternative choice of sitting for the MROVCP examination providing qualification for operation of VHF Radios only.

Nominations for the course will close on 12 November and persons wishing to register should contact the Radio Room on 3396 2778 between the hours of 0700 and 1700 Monday to Friday. Anyone intending to sit for the MROVCP should make specific mention of that when registering; otherwise it will be assumed that the intention is to sit for the MROCP.

Those who have registered by the closing date will be contacted in writing within one week thereafter confirming their nomination and giving specific details of course arrangements.
